This circuit boosts the voltage from a flat AA battery, using up the last of the power in the battery, which normally would be unusable.
The completed torch is quite bright, comparible to the LED Torch built into a smartphone.

This version comes with extra battery holders, more wire, and an extra larger Toroid ferrite (For making a better transformer with more turns).

The circuit can take upto 5.5V (5V with a better transformer) input, and switches off at about 1-1.1V

Use the extra battery holders for combining more batteries either fresh ones or comlpetely flat ones (less than 1V) to get the input voltage above 1V.
