This circuit boosts the voltage from a flat AA battery, using up the last of the power in the battery, which normally would be unusable.
The completed torch is quite bright, comparible to the LED Torch built into a smartphone.

The Circuit can take upto 5.5V input, and the LED's switch off at 1-1.1V
